RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted December 20, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 20, 2019 Normally I would expect parcels and luggage to be handled within the main building. After all, they will normally arrive with the passengers. The parcels office could be in the lefthand door of the building along with the staff access to the ticket office . Al. Thanks Andy I’m going to have a second attempt at the canopy some time this weekend, I’d made my mind up and decided the canopy should definitely extended out further. I’m pretty sure in the real world the canopy would project out further than the roof on the gable end to catch rain water.....otherwise I’d have to put the canopy lower down and have guttering (would look messy in my opinion)
RMweb Gold chuffinghell Posted December 21, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 21, 2019 One thing I had forgotten to do before laying down the base coat and gluing the roof in place was to add the window sills Base coat applied
RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted December 21, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 21, 2019 Have you thought what colours you want to end up with Chris? Is it going to be pale sandstone, or grey limestone, or darker granite? Are you going to go for bluish slate on the roof, or stone tiles or even brick tiles? Al I’m just going to ‘wing it’ same as I did on the pump house and engine shed....but less grubby The fascia boards, doors, canopy etc will be a combination of light and dark stone in a GWR(ish) stylee I'm much happier when I do my own thang instead of trying to strictly adhere to prototypes Edited December 21, 2019 by chuffinghell 1
sb67
That canopy would definitley look better extended out a bit as in the photo.
RMweb Gold chuffinghell Posted December 21, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 21, 2019 Had enough material left to extend out about 6 millimetres (ish) So it’s only subtle but it will extend beyond the roof as required

RMweb Gold chuffinghell Posted December 22, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 22, 2019 Having spent the day tidying up the layout room and helping to wrap presents I decided to wind down this evening by painting the canopy valance with my homebrewed light and dark stone Turned out nice again 9
