Perth Shed Panoramic, July 1965

This popped up on Flickr recently, although I'm sure I've seen the photo on Flickr before, or maybe a similar one by a different photographer.

I think it's a fascinating shot. Of particular interest to me are the two shed roads nearest the camera have been given over to the new diesels, complete with fuelling stations.

Class 27, Class 26, Class 40 and what looks like maybe a class 24?

Three A4s, an A2 and a Britannia included in the steam lineup.

The bigger building in the background was the Engine workshops.

The whole scene is now obliterated, with a Royal Mail depot and a Tesco on top.

Best

Looks like 60031 Golden Plover, which did have the stripe....

Agree - Merlin also had the strip but had a RN crest as well which the loco in question didn't. I have an idea that this pic or almost identical pics have been published on several occasions. The same engine [two angles]  [readily identified as 60031] also appears in Perth on 3 Sep 1965 in the Colour-Rail catalogue
