RMweb Premium iands Posted March 22, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 22, 2019 Although I've already posted this in the Non-modelling Events section, thought I might as well post here also. 5

RMweb Gold Tim Hall Posted March 24, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 24, 2019 Thoroughly enjoyed 2 visits on successive days last May, whilst the family were being tourists in the city. Drove the 03, 04 and Ruston the full length of the line, as they offer "Driver for a Fiver" between passenger trains. Very friendly people who care a lot about their railway.
south_tyne
Almost embarrassed to say that I've never visited the DVLR, despite it being so close. Definitely one for the list so I'll try and get along to this event in the summer.
009 micro modeller
Is the DVLR running tomorrow? On the website it appears to only have up to 21st July and then 4th August but I just thought I’d check.

009 micro modeller
I had an enjoyable day at Murton Park, riding on the DVLR and also having a look round the rest of the Museum of Farming. I rode behind 03079 and Rowntree No. 3, and also in the cab of the Rowntree loco. It’s a lovely place and I particularly like the restored station building from Wheldrake. There was some information about the signal box too but I would be interested to know where this was recovered from. Also from what I saw it seems there is only a run round loop at the Osbaldwick end, not at the station itself but is this correct? I would definitely like to visit again in future, perhaps when there is an event on or when the observation/verandah coach is running. A few photos:
RMweb Gold Tim Hall Posted July 28, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 28, 2019 Correct, no loop in the station, so two locos required, which alternate on the train.
RMweb Premium iands Posted September 23, 2019 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 23, 2019 Had a very enjoyable couple of hours at the DVLR recently (14/09/2019) with a number of velocipedes in action. Actually assisted in pedalling one (a 4-wheeled, 2-man job - the one in the photo) from one end to the other. Great! For the avoidance of doubt, no, that's not me in the photo - I'm behind the camera!
