RMweb Gold Mikkel Posted September 2, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 2, 2021 That's all? Armchair modeller! Very nice work, and an impressive volume of output. The Horch is great, I've always liked that chunky rugged look.
RMweb Gold toboldlygo Posted September 26, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 26, 2021 Sorry for lack of updates, I'd been distinctly off colour for a most of the summer, so things had slowed to crawl. This culminated last Friday (September 17th), when I was rushed to hospital after suffering a 'Cardiac Event' (heart attack). I'm on the mend, but I'm having to take things easy.

Hope mine comes out as well, whenever that might be I have a Mirage 1/48 PZL in the stash too to do as well at some point. Andy

Thanks, I'm getting there slowly, as a client's told me Roman wasn't built in a day. Though there's days I've felt like the Colosseum - ancient and crumbling lol. That being said I'm back in the workshop, but only for a few hours a day at present, as the meds do take their toll. They'll be a proper update on works when I'm far more focused. In the meantime here's a few things to wet the appetite. Nearing completion. A couple of complete RTR weathering projects Up periscope.. The Soviets are coming. More builds progressing. railroadbill
Great weathering, good to see you can now get back to the workbench! As an aside I built a Parkside BY and PLV during one of the lock-downs. Went together ok but kept derailing when run on the layout. I realised they were too light, and added 70 gm weights to bring them up to the sort of weight r-t-r vans of a similar size are. That's worked.

RMweb Gold toboldlygo Posted November 7, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 7, 2021 (edited) So finally on to part 3. Non railway related builds. Tamiya 1/48th Scale T-34's T-34-85 (new-tool 2020) T-34-76 (2005 Tooling, build interrupted by my heart attack). Tamiya 1/48th Scale Horch 1a (Horch eventually became Audi). Zvezda 1/72nd Scale T-28 (New Tool, fantastic kit to build - bonkers part count) That's all for completed stuff - part 4 will be works in progress. RMweb Gold toboldlygo Posted November 7, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 7, 2021 (edited) So time for part 4: Works in progress: Nearing the finish line with HMCS Snowberry. Hand rails, decals and some light weathering to do. Brassmasters Match Truck More bits added, but photo-etch and me are having issues atm - they cut me and I bled a lot (so a solution is needed). Eduard 1/48th Scale Spitfire Mk.VIII HF. My first my heart attack build - went together beautifully, paint work's behaving itself too. Tamiya 1/48th Scale German SPW (Half Track) Been a quick build so far, aside from the tracks being too short! RMweb Gold Popular Post toboldlygo Posted December 8, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted December 8, 2021 (edited) ***Update*** So to add to the tale of woe for the last few months - I suffered from a bleed on the brain (right-side) and suffered a stroke. To say I was damn lucky is an understatement. I'm recovering everyday - the NHS aftercare is fantastic ( for now) - I SHOULD be up to railway modelling in a few weeks. To keep you lot amused, here's a few completed models - I hadn't got round to posting. Work in progress - Tamiya 1/48th scale IL-2 Shturmovik. Airfix 1/72nd scale Nakajima 'Kate'- surrender markings( This was started pre-stroke). Eduard 1/48th scale Supermarine Spitfire MK.VIII HF- SAAF Markings. Tamiya 1/48th scale German Tank destroyer Marder III M Tamiya1/48th scale German MTL - SPW (I can't remember the rest lol). RMweb Gold Mikkel Posted December 12, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 12, 2021 I'll echo that. Good to hear that recovery is going well. I can hardly tell the difference between a tank and one of them flying machines, but I'm always inspired by your finishes. That Marder III M tank for example, the weathering is deliciously subtle. Christmas greetings to you and everyone else on here. cheers, Bill Hi Bill and a happy new year to you too, it's been a long hard road back - I still ain't dead So my therapy started and mostly left-handed - as that's the side effected, I took my time and built something from Tamiya, a1/48th Scale Crusader Mk.III anti-aircraft tank. so it took me a while (things pinging off onto the workshop floor, takes me ages to find them). ttfn Edited March 31, 2022 by toboldlygo 9
