mk1gtstu
A water tank kit I've built & weathered put in place next to the engine shed. The various barrels, pallets etc I salvaged from my old Cridmore yard layout I sold on and I'm re-using them here Cheers, Stu 6
mk1gtstu
Back to more buildings, this time a Severn Models signal box & also the interior kit. I built one of these for my Porthkerry layout & I think they are very nice little models when done. This one will go at the junction where the mainline branches off into the colliery sidings.
mk1gtstu
Another job to get done is some working yard lamps. I've decided to scratchbuild my own. I've made them out of brass tube & soldered some brass ladders to the tubing. Some brass wire bent to shape & soldered onto the posts on the tops. Wiring threaded through the tubing, LED's fitted & some scraps of plastic for the lamp heads, then some lamp lenses glued into place. I've made a couple of different types, some single lamps & some double ones. They are far from perfect but hopefully they will look the part once they are painted up & in place on the layout. Cheers, Stu

An LED fitted inside the roof, The signal box in its new home on the layout Some security gates & fences added at the colliery entrance road Cheers, Stu
mk1gtstu
An update to this thread, the layout has come a long way since I posted on here last, I haven't posted much on this layout for a while as there seemed to be very little interest. Anyway, some more photos for those who are interested 6 1

SouthernBlue80s
That's a really nice level of detail for n gauge. Looking forward to some pictures with Stock.
Duncan.
Great to see an update. I think you have created the most evocative N gauge colliery scene I have seen, and in such a small area. Looking forward to see the vehicle placements and the rolling stock on the layout Cheers Duncan 1
Steadfast
Hi Stu, You've captured the swampy look of the colliery sidings very well! Lots of lovely little details to set it off well too. The river looks spot on, fast flowing and full of debris. Jo

Phil Himsworth
That is stunning, I struggle to believe it's N gauge. Thank you for posting.
stivesnick
Hi Not sure how I missed this layout hen you started last year. It's fantastic, and shows what can be done on a 4 x 2 foot board in N. Nick
