I noticed that yesterday DB only had two of their 59/2s in traffic with two at Merehead and two at Crewe. Does anyone have any idea what is going on with them?

Before DB started moving them around they appeared to be very reliable and hardly out of traffic. Are those out of traffic under maintenance or on exam?

grimley, according to tops as of 10:03 today are as follows:_

59201:- currently on 7C29 westbury to merehead

59202:- currently on 7V07 chirchester to merehead

59203:- crewe IEMD awaiting maintainence/repair

59204:- out of use crewe, awaiting transfer

59205:- merehead, out of use awaiting materials/parts

59206:- merehead, out of use awaiting materials/parts/

it would seem that 205/206 and kaputt, 204 possible just waiting pool transfer for oil traffic instead of class 60's and crew training. 203 i think is just a general exam, from what i can gather.

the other 59's, incase any one is wondering are as follows,

59001:- currently on 6A09 merehead to acton

59002:- arrived whatley on 6C25 allocated 6L21

59003:- stored out of use in germany

59004:- arrived grain on 7Y81 allocated 7Y21

59005:- currently on 7C31 theale to merehead

59101:- currently on 7C29 acton to merehead

59102:- currently on 7V29 purley to acton

59103:- currently on 7L64 acton to bow

59104:- arrived allington (london) on 6O87, allocated 6Y17.

hope thats of some use. seems ARC runs theres and get more out of them than any of the others.

You might be right Beast!

Thanks for the information Dan very helpful. I think 205 and 206 have been out of use for a few weeks now.

We shall see what happens, perhaps that is why a few more 60s have returned to traffic as cover. Margam and Warrington seemed to be where they were destined to go but 60s have returned there.

Hello Dan,

Thanks for sharing that list, very useful! I don't suppose you, or anyone else, knows if 59201 was swapped with 59002 this afternoon. I was at Crofton all afternoon, and 59201 passed on what looked very much like a slightly late 6L21. Heard the horn, and was a bit shocked to see an EWS livery 59 crawling round the bend, expecting to see a Yeoman

Confirmation of this would be greatly appreciated

cheers

59003:- stored out of use in germany

...

Hi Dan

tried to search for 59003 online to check if it's near my place and found a picture of it working a goods train. According to the EXIF data it was taken today --> http://www.bahnbilde...%28HHPI%29.html .

Other pictures show it working on May 14th and 16th, too. It's currently working near Berlin, as it appears - way to far away from here to hunt it.

Cheers

Mac
