That's brilliant !.. interesting to see other male cats doing this..

I'd never seen or heard of this kind of behavior until our one took on the black rescue kitten, ( long before the white one arrived !)... he'd carry him about in his mouth like a mother cat does, and teach him "manners"  etc, do the whole parent thing..

He did exactly the same a couple of years later with the white one !

We had to give our cat the tapeworm medication on her neck yesterday as she lives on mice basically. How the heck she knows she was due is beyond me. It is not as though we rush to grab her, we just amble in gently trying not to spook her. Suffice to say that both my wife and I spent the next 5 minutes trying to catch her in the conservatory. This isn't unusual as we go through the same procedure every time she needs worming. Of course today we are all in the conservatory and she hasn't a care in the world.

It just confirms to me that cats of all sizes are magnificent intelligent creatures. Do any other members have the same pantomime ?

Yes absolutely ! Cat's aren't silly, they have an inbuilt instinct that something's "up" and go to great lengths to make themselves "unavailable" for unwanted attention if at all possible !  ;)

Here is a link to the rescue center that saved Mason , the number of rescues and

rehabilitation of ferals they have helped and re-homed is staggering , whole colonys

have been slowly been through their TNR system , that's trap neuter and return , unless

a cat shows signs of deciding that being around humans is better than being in the wild ,

if this happens then they do all that they can to fully socialise it and find it a home .

I hope some find it interesting .

Nothing worse than being compelled [does one really have a choice, with cats?]   to share the bathroom with the cat?  Who liked to totter around the edge of he bath whilst one was in it.....until the day she slipped and fell in?

Not a good place to be, soaking in a nice hot bath, shared with an indignant lump of soggy fur and a full set of murdermittens...

Or the day  [or rather, 2 o'clock in the morning] she caught a partridge, took it to the bathroom and proceeded to pluck it.

The partridge wasn't very impressed either.

Nothing better than chasing around in the middle of the night in one's jimjams, trying to get hold [and hold onto] the cat, whilst one's partner gets hold of the half naked partridge, separating them, chucking said partridge out the front door, etc.....then everyone setting to, to empty the bathroom of feathers.....

One of next door's feral moggs [from Cats Protection]...they took the whole bunch on....Note the Cat's Protection feral identification [been done, etc, before releasing] of the clipped ear'ole?

Eats anything.

Frequently outside my kitchen door or inside if I forget & leave the door open & unattended] and into my kitchen caddy [for brown bin waste]

There are several others of differing shades, colours, but all with one thing in common......always scrounging for anything to eat.

This one adopts the 'cutey' expression.....Very appealing...

The face says, ''whatyergot??''

Now, this handsome chap is well known around the village of Londesborough, & can be found in the grounds behind the church all too often.

Goes by the name of Charlie.

Note the very smart tuxedo?

Very friendly, always up for a fuss & a rub around.

Now, behind Londesborough church [in the park] are a set of nice steps, and a kind of ruined chapel. All very atmospheric, and often used as the idyllic setting for wedding photographs.

Charlie has a habit of photobombing every wedding photo.....

I had to do that to our tabby once.  He shredded the bathroom curtains.

Our Bonnie decided to jump up onto a freshly painted garden table last summer, getting paint all over her paws. She was most displeased at being caught and unceremoniously carried to the bathroom, and there must have been atleast 16 paws with at least 20 claws each, all flailing around as I tried to clean them before she tried to lick it off...

Every time, especially with the flea meds - we rarely bother with the wormer as neither of ours catch anything (Bonnie has never been bothered and Clyde is no longer fit enough)

Cats can, will, & do read our minds.

They know when someone is a bit afraid of moggies....so they will make a supreme effort to sit on that person's knees.....bolt upright, staring deeply into their eyes.

They also seem to know beforehand, when it's Sunday, and when you're about to start cooking the roast chicken dinner.....

At least, that's been my recent experience....

Seems just like Tay from next door, only he doesn't have the excuse of being feral and has never wanted for his dinner!

I have that T shirt.  Little Billet (she came from a rolling mill) used to sit on the edge of the bath while I was in it, until the day Mrs NHN swept past, knocking her into the bath.  I was almost circumcised....the little tinker only had one wet paw when she finally settled, but the bath water was pink. Sheesh that was sore.

Gosh, 1984...
