Kerr's Miniature Railway is to close on the weekend of Saturday, the 10th of October.

A tourist attraction at Arbroath since the mid-1930s, its final weekend will include every available locomotive over the two-day event, including an engine originally run at the attraction in the 1940s.

According to BBC Weather, the weekend should be dry with sunny spells...

I rode on it in the late 1940s when a child on holiday at Arbroath.  A pity ot is shutting down but you can sympathise with the owner when the low number of visitors cannot make it worth all the work to maintain it.

Sad to mark its passing, although it's possibly a sign of the changing social times.  At least its future was sealed before the pandemic, with such slumping visitor numbers.

I'm afraid the caption 'the miniature railway runs alongside the main Dundee to Aberdeen train line' made me apoplectic, however.
