Aston On Clun. A forgotten Great Western outpost.

The tank needs some pipework. I'll use the bends from the railway water tank kit bits of tube and the dressmaking pin I have liberated to make a valve body. I'm going to need two of those.

Excellent !  For the sake of realism will you fill it with water?

Kenny Everett on Capital Radio was very good!

These days it’s YouTube Alison Balsom playing Baroque trumpet or Leonid and Friends reimagining Chicago’s best songs in Moscow - we’re spoilt for choice without the radio!

That might be asking for trouble, plus you can't scale down water!

Kenny Everett was very good at most things he did!

Same with us, if you can't find it on YouTube it probably doesn't exist. I did listen to a few internet stations until they went subscription only.

I'm a big fan of Spotify, worth the subscription cost I think.

While Spotify is amazing for instantly accessing pretty much every song, ever, it’s model doesn’t support artists which is a massive issue for me. The publishing payout from streaming is laughable.
Despite this I still use it though and also make a point of buying records from the artists I really like.

I agree with you, and use it in much the same way.  If I listen to something new on there and like it, then I'll buy it in the real world.  It's great for finding new artists - and even better if you link it up with Shazam.

How can you accurately measure an angle between a straight line and a curved one?

Does that bring us back to an update on the doomed motorised points, recently ignored?

It's a possibility, especially as the weather is terrible right now.

Summer was on Wednesday, in case you missed it.

Unpleasant / potentially disappointing task avoidance pipe is coming together nicely though...

One of our motorbiking friends asked if we had good quality waterproofs?

I said yes, it's that big blue thing in the garage with a roof and four wheels.

Yes, that handwheel is really good. Did you buy a fret with an assortment of sizes? I need a very large one of the same design for a GWR goods yard crane. I don’t fancy fabricating one!

Given the wind we've got here at the moment, I think the umbrellas are futile.

Liking the valve! Very ingenious :good:

I just hope it’s the correct pressure rating :D

It's a standard 8" BSP Donkin gate valve I believe.

The wind here is giving me trouble, too.

Rather more information than we needed perhaps?

Never mind old fruit, it'll soon blow itself out...

Keep it in otherwise you’ll contribute to global warming and thus more extreme weather!

I'm not getting into that argument with the Veganazis again on how we should eat about half of the world's cows before they fart the planet to death...
