MyRule1
I am placing this request in RMWeb as I have found it to have members who seem willing to help others and have the knowledge to provide the answer. In the 1960's or 1970's the Southern Region produced a leaflet or booklet addressed to commuters who thought they could run the railway better than the management, I thought the title was something like "So you would like to run a railway" but searches on the internet for titles similar to this have drawn a blank. I would like to obtain a copy (or download) of this for some work I am doing with local schools. Any clues about the title or a source?
TJ52
I googled Southern Region publicity 1960s and found this. Apparently a 48 page booklet in, I think, 1962. Good luck! Terry
Wickham Green too
There's a copy in the Southern Railways Group's Library.
bécasse
And in my personal library - as handed to me at Penge East station on the relevant morning back in 1962. It was quite well produced, the only thing that it lacked was information on where to apply!
RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted March 17, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 17, 2021 My father brought a copy home, and within rather less than 10 years, at age 20, I found myself as a London Area Controller doing some of the stuff the booklet had identified. Ridiculous. 1
MyRule1
Thanks @TJ52 and everyone all for the replies - that's what I'm looking for. All I need now is a copy of digital version.
