bazjones1711
Many years ago we started a layout based on the coil unloading sidings that were at the end of Tinsley yard and can be viewed from the M1 motorway , we started the layout but built it on a single baseboard , which was far too big and bulky , so a mark 2 version was started about a year or so ago . Progress has been slow to non existent for a while now , but the idea and planning will all come together one day . The layout is 8ft long on two 4ft boards with just one line which uses Peco code 75 bullhead track and will feature a working overhead crane to unload the imported semi finished stainless coils . Having gathered a vast amout of information over the years , i'm always looking for any additional info on this location , be it workings , locos , wagons etc . I am looking to find out if VTG KIA ferrywagons ( as per Dapol model ) ever went here to be loaded with export coil ,as i've seen photos of the mid to late 1980's of them in the yard at Tinsley . RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted June 27, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 27, 2021 Absolutely no connection, and of no use whatsoever to your request, but I'm presuming you have heard of this small supplier: https://www.goodwoodscenics.co.uk/
cheesysmith
This would have been either the SMACK or SPACE siding. I think it was the SMACK, with the SPACE being on the other side of the yard. These were the BS terms for the process at each site.
simontaylor484
I also believe it was the Smacc side Steel making and continuous casting
