2884 Class at Barry's scrapyard

In Railway Modeller for 1993 January, there is a photo allegedly of 3852 in the scrap yard. The photo shows a freshly painted smokebox, so apparently moves were under way to restore it. Photographer is D. Lewis, not as I previously stated.

 

Problem is that 3852 doesn't show up on Barry lists, so I assume the number is incorrect.

 

I believe it must be 3822 (currently at Didcot) or 3862, which is at the Northampton & Lamport Railway.

 

My guess is that it is actually 3822, can anyone confirm?

I would expect it's a typo for 3862

3822 was an early leaver and didn't seem to have any painting done when leaving.

3852 went to Cohens in Kettering and was broken up pretty quickly in 1964

Based on that, it must indeed be 3862 as the photo is dated 1988, but 3822 left in 1976.
