Fredo
Hi, I am trying to work out if Bachmann versions of the GWR 12t vans 37-731 and 37-775 are identical and if not what are the differences. Anyone any thoughts? Thanks Fred
Miss Prism
I think it is just different running numbers.
Butler Henderson
31-731 is a 12T Double Ventilated Van, 37-775 is a 12T MOGO - fitted with end doors to allow a motor car to be loaded and transported in a goods train.
Steamport Southport
Are you sure? https://www.hattons.co.uk/442445/bachmann_branchline_37_775_po05_12_ton_ventilated_van_in_br_grey_livery_pre_owned_like_new/stockdetail https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363192181937?epid=1754646203&hash=item548ff0e4b1:g:3-AAAOSw8JRfu5Cx And this is 37-731 https://www.hattons.co.uk/23613/bachmann_branchline_37_731_12_ton_ventilated_van_in_br_w_grey_livery/stockdetail Jason Edited January 9, 2022 by Steamport Southport
Butler Henderson
Definately 37-775 was a GW Mogo https://www.hampshiremodels.co.uk/products/Bachmann-37-775-oo-gauge-br-12t-mogo-van-w133971-x2 Either the number has been reissued which would be very odd for Bachmann or those second hand vans are in the wrong box. That's not a MOGO though. And shouldn't MOGOs be bauxite in BR days as they were fitted? Butler Henderson
Looks like Bachmann, or rather the Kader factory, have fouled up at some point as the 37-77x series are MOGOs and the wrong body tooling was used; interestingly Ramsey Model Trains catalogue lists 37-775 both as a MOGO and a vent van so their is an implication that some were issued from the correct tooling;, although it does also list a A, B and C varients all as vent vans (albeit saying A was not made) .
