South Notts Show 2022 is definitely ON.

The much reduced and socially distanced show last September made a small profit in the end, probably just creeping into three figures.

The layout list wasn't as final as I thought.

David Paylor has discovered he is double-booked, and the other booking happened first...   There is another layout to replace it- also from someone called Dave, but mark hasn't sent me the details yet- (he'd better hurry up as the programme needs putting to bed tomorrow...)

THIS WEEKEND, FOLKS!!!

Update.

Layout to replace "A Taste of Alber" is called "Phoenix"

Railstuff has withdrawn, ill.

All is prepared..... (famous last words) and we are as ready as we will ever be.

Woodthorpe Shed may or may not be called Sherwood Shed, two pieces of paper with two different names, but we'll find out tomorrow when John arrives and takes the rise out of us as usual....

as the original poster picture has disappeared since the outage I can’t actually see where the exhibition is taking place as I’m possibly over Nottinghamshire way tomorrow

EDIT: found it, cotgrave, remember visiting it a few years back now, fascinating building

Glad you found us.

I hadn't had time to check that the pic was still there.  Apologies for that.

In the end Book Law had to pull out due to illness meaning Kath couldn't cover the shop and the stand on her own.  Dave Tailby tested positive on the morning of the set-up so Victoria was withdrawn, and John Huddlestone having set up Zell on Friday tested positive on Saturday morning so removed the layout at 8am on Saturday with others in the building keeping a safe distance...

We substituted the Pointless Little Roundy Roundy into part of Book Law's space with Malc's Models expanding their stand into the space also.

To wind this thread up, the exhibition made a useful profit for club funds, which have taken quite a hit over the last two years..

The Trevor Webster Trophy for best in show went to "A Cold Front"   Picture nicked from Facebook, probably taken by layout builder James Styles.

The Favourite Layout Trophy judged on the punters' vote went to ..........  "A Cold Front".

And the main raffle prize is still un claimed, the winner's phone isn't being answered.

Next Year's show is April 1st and 2nd (Palm Sunday weekend).

Good to hear the show proved financially viable for the club, there were a number of exhibits that had some exceptional modelling on display and whilst “A Cold Front” deserved the title, several others ran it a close second.

Looking forward to next year.
