My Dapol Terrier is Screw-ed (Help Required)

Hoping someone will be able to help / advise or point me in the right direction.

 

When I got my Dapol / ROS 00 gauge Terrier a while back, I took it apart and fitted a sound decoder.

 

When I tried to put it back together, I found that the rear body screw wasn't biting. Testing it off the chassis, it worked fine which would lead me to believe it has stripped the first few threads as its come apart and the screw is no longer long enough to bite when re-assembling.

 

I have tried searching the web for a longer replacement that I can cut down to length if need but nothing is coming up.

 

Please see the attached photos for the dimensions and type of screw required. Any help is much appreciated.

Have a look at https://modelfixings.co.uk.  I use them regularly for small screws, nuts and bolts for, er, models.

Look at cheap, Chinese, battery operated toys. This looks exactly like the type they use for the battery compartment closing screw!

I have used a BA cheese head screws when the manufacturers self tappers no longer grip the body.

100 of them isn't so bad at the price - and it's going to cost them a quid in postage even to send just one. 

Far better to buy enough not to worry when the first 3 fly off into the great void.

Small screws in various sizes are always handy to have.

Two or three people , even four to share the cost and it is a good deal!
Surprised there is not more of this happening with modellers to help keep costs down!

That's everyone for the responses, I've ended up ordering some cheese head screws and washers from Accu and i'll see how they go, however, that eBay link has been saved in case the Accu stuff turns out to be naff!
