Steadfast
Hi all I was looking at some MTA wagons yesterday, and being ex TTA they retain a number of plates from their previous use. One of them had a plate lettered BR (Sc), simple enough, Scottish Region. However, the one next to it had BR (D) on the same style of plate. Any thoughts what the D means? It's not one of the regional letters? Many thanks Jo
Wickham Green too
Presumably relates to where the wagon was registered as a Private Owner ...... maybe Doncaster or Derby or ........

Steadfast
Department was the only D I could think of, but surely irrelevant to a private owner tank wagon owned by Shell? Here's the details of the wagon's previous ID (SUKO 65537) https://www.ltsv.com/rd/number_detail.php?id=WA-395062 And the next wagon in the same number series: https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/sukoclassbtta1/h1ce5aacd Jo Edited June 29, 2022 by Steadfast
Mark Saunders
It’s the register that it is recorded in and in this case BR Derby. 1
Steadfast
Thanks @Mark Saunders, such a simple answer, but one I'd never have thought of! Jo
