ianmacc
This is a really silly question but I’m an old school DC modeller/ self confessed Luddite. I bought a class 150/2 as part of a job lot and it doesn’t run. The others all do. Has it been DCC fitted? There looks like a DCC chip on the chassis. See pics. I assume if that’s the case I can just buy a blanking plate and it’ll hopefully run? Removing the chip alone doesn’t let it run.
jpendle
Hi, Yes that's a DCC decoder. If you happen to know someone with a DCC system they can program the decoder to run on DC. Otherwise you'll need a 21 pin blanking plate. BTW are there any speakers in the bodies of the two coaches? Regards, John P
RMweb Gold Dagworth Posted August 29, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 29, 2022 Yes, that's a DCC decoder. You need a 21 pin blanking plug and then it will work on DC Andi
ianmacc
Thanks guys. Picked up a pack of blanking plates from going Loco this afternoon and it runs great on DC. It probably also ran on DCC okay. There’s no speakers fitted so it wasn’t sound fitted. I spent a few minutes wondering why I couldn’t fit the blanking plate or indeed refit the decoder until I realised I was trying to fit it upside down (there’s an odd number of pins so it will only go one way anyway!)
