"Commentary Man"

For some years I have helped out at the twice-yearly North Downs Model Railway Exhibition, held at the Church of The Good Shepherd in Tadworth.

 

One regular attender was a gentleman who used to give quite a loud and enthusiastic commentary on whichever layout he happened to be watching and became known to us as "Commentary Man" or "Murray". He also used to attend a number of other shows including Guildford, Alton, and Kenavon (though the last two have not been held in the last couple of years).

 

There have now been three exhibitions at Tadworth since the pandemic, and he has not been seen or heard at any of them.

 

Has anyone else seen or heard of him recently? Just wondering if he's OK.

The gentleman in question is named Kenton, but that's all I know about him.  I haven't seen or heard of him since COVID either.
Likewise, I do hope he's okay.

I do know the name of "The Commentator" - and it's not Kenton.   His attendance at shows was decreasing pre-pandemic, so maybe he has lost interest in model railways.  Bill

Thanks Andy.  I must have sufffered a brain-fade, as the real Murray used to say.  The gentleman in question is called Barrington.

Did he do sound effects too? Sure I read a most entertaining Thread about that individual on a previous incarnation of RMweb.
