Limited Edition MOY Private Owner Wagons 

 

Produced for the Gauge O Guild by Dapol

 

Available to Guild Members only. Price: £42 plus p&p from 5th November 

 

These are the first O gauge wagons produced for the Gauge O Guild

The livery for this limited edition is that of Thomas Moy, Coal Merchant 

Thomas Moy was based in Colchester with coal grounds at many stations in the East of England

Choose the Colchester or Peterborough depot transfer 

 

There are only 50 of each so it is first come first served

 

Each one comes with a Limited Edition certificate

My initial thought was “Huh?”, but then looking at the photo on the certificate it is easy to see how the question could arise!

Their supplies didn’t come from the Acle Marshes coalfield! It had to come from pits somewhere and as the GWR had their fare share of them, these could have been just as likely seen on their metals as anywhere else.

I doubt it.

Given that the MOY depots are in Colchester and Peterborough and there were many coal mines much closer than any in GWR territory I doubt very much that they or their customers would have paid the extra transportation costs to obtain Forest or Welsh coal, no matter the quality.
