I wanted to create this thread to avoid the usual pricing chat taking over the other threads but I am totally bemused by this. Currently £250! Seemingly with no upgrades to speak of. £2 cheaper than the brand new 9F and the almost bargain newly tooled B17/5 by 2023 standards is £210. I just can't quite figure this one out. I can easily see these ending up in the comparative bargain bin at £150. Anyone got any wisdom on this/something I've missed?

Maybe its priced on the same principle as the nurses pay claim - ask for double what you expect and settle for what you really wanted 'after negotiation'? 🙃

Do you mean, "Will someone from Hornby give me a complete breakdown of all the costs so I can work out why this is the price?" - unlikley as that would be commercially sensitive information.

Prices are always higher than we would like and all the discussion online isn't going to change this. The RRP is set by the manufacturer based on a large number of factors, which they aren't going to reveal on a public forum. Ultimatly, if they get it wrong then either the models don't sell, or if too low, sell at a loss.

Threads on prices always produce more heat than light, requiring lots of work from the Mods, so unless someone has some actual numbers, I'm going to lock this. If anyone has facts, then drop me a line and we'll reopen it.
