St. Simon
Hi, Really looking forward to bringing Collingwood along to Basingstoke, always a good show! Please come along and say hello, and see what I believe is the only layout on the circuit to have a fully working & prototypical Signalling System. RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted January 26, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 26, 2023 Hmm - I always enjoy the Basingstoke show although last year I received a bonus and caught Covid (but I think I got from my son so that excuses the show). Hoping that trains and 'buses (or rather the 'bus) will be running as i'm looking forward to seeing Collingwood in particular.
RMweb Gold SElder Posted January 26, 2023 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 26, 2023 If by THE bus you mean the heritage bus service then unfortunately that has not been confirmed as yet. All mention of it has been removed from the website until we have a definite confirmation. Stuart

RMweb Gold Geep7 Posted January 27, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 27, 2023 Usually I am at the show as a visitor, but this year I will be there helping exhibit Clive Abbott's EM gauge HORSEBRIDGE WHARF; a fictional ex-PD&SWJR Southern Railway branch terminus, set on the banks of the River Tamer in West Devon.

Anyway, I'm excited to bring along Sandy Shores, though apologies for the photo in this thread as unfortunately my lighting rig wasn't on at the time the photo was taken (eventually traced the fault to a loose wire!). Here's a couple of alternative views: (Edit: You are more than welcome to use one/both for publicity, should you wish, @SElder) The above scene *may* change very slightly by the time of Basingstoke, as I may be adding a couple of beach huts by the groyne... we'll see! Looks set to be a great event! Do come and have a chat. Edited February 21, 2023 by SouthernRegionSteam 1

RMweb Gold SElder Posted February 22, 2023 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted February 22, 2023 Confirmation that the Heritage bus will be running again this year. As well as the railway station the bus will also stop at the leisure park. The timetable will be available on the website very soon.
RMweb Premium Ian Morgan Posted February 22, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 22, 2023 The bus is stopping at the leisure park because there is lots of free parking there. There is a lot of free parking at the school, but it has still overflowed at peak times the last couple of years.

OwenTheSignal
Hi all, I will be bringing Romsey & Halterworth to the Show. The layout includes the station, the junction and the 2 signal boxes. All the signalling - signals, block instruments (but no bells!) and level crossing - is operational. It's a layout with a difference or 2 - it's designed to be interactive, so visitors (numbers permitting) can operate the signal boxes. The other difference is that it's modelled in 100% Lego - Absolute Block - as close as possible to the prototype. A few photos to give you an idea. Flickr album: https://flic.kr/s/aHskuz8xzz Really looking forward to the Show, hope to see you there! Stuart Train services are in the hands of the 3R Tadpole(go), with a MLV in Jaffa Cake livery on parcels Lines go to Eastleigh and Redbridge, under the A27 at the Ashfield Bridge Crompton 33008 Eastleigh All signals are operational, worked from the lever frames and the Plasser crane is on occasional engineering duties assisted by the Wickham trolley 1

RMweb Gold SElder Posted March 7, 2023 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 7, 2023 Anyone coming on the Saturday by car please be aware of roadworks at Brighton Hill roundabout which will involve lane closures. This will affect anyone approaching the School from the south from the A30 direction. Full details in the link below. https://www.hants.gov.uk/transport/transportschemes/A30brightonhillroundabout Here's hoping there is not too much disruption. Enjoy the show.
