KLee55
Does anyone know whether all Norwich based class 03s ran with a match wagon in yellow livery (TOPS era)? Many thanks
Rivercider
Over the years there have been a number of threads on RMweb about the use of runners with class 03s, some may include useful information. Otherwise a search on Flickr might be of use. Use a search term like 'Norwich 03084' In 1981 the Norwich class 03 allocation comprised, 03084, 03086, 03158, 03197, 03370, 03397. A quick search showed that not all runners were yellow, cheers
RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted May 12, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 12, 2023 03397 is one, just been looking at a photo of it at Norwich in July 1984 - I've cut out the small part of the photo with the loco and truck. Image is copyright Mark Brammer who has a fantastic collection of Anglian photos.
Tom Burnham
D2039 with a shunter's truck at Wymondham in 1971. I guess that would have been a Norwich engine?

Looking at the pattern of brackets on the top of the wagon, that looks like a Conflat L.

RMweb Premium Jeremy Cumberland Posted May 17, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 17, 2023 I'm surprised the runner wagons are so obviously yellow; at other places they were mostly grime. It is probably worth noting that Norwich 03s always seemed to have the runner at the flowerpot end. At other places where runners where used, it might be at the cab end.
