KMRC announce Exclusive Dapol 00 Gauge Class 59/0 59 002 ‘Alan J Day’ in Aggregate Industries with 30-year branding livery.

The Class 59 Co-Co locomotives were built between 1985 and 1995 by Electro-Motive Diesel. A total of 15 locomotives were built for three different operators.

They were the first privately owned diesel locomotives to operate regularly on the British main line, also the first diesel locomotives built for it in the United States. The first Class 59/0s were ordered by Foster Yeoman and entered service in February 1986 working out their Merehead depot.

Class 59/0 59 002 was introduced in March 1986, working out the Merehead Foster Yeoman TMD originally operated by Foster Yeoman and between June 1986 and June 1996 it was named ‘Yeoman Enterprise’ when renamed after client ‘Alan J Day’. Since 2008 following the acquisition of Foster Yeoman becoming part Aggregate Industries 59 002 has carried their blue/green/silver livery, additionally it carries 30-year anniversary branding.

The Kernow Model Rail Centre Exclusive highly detailed model in 00 Gauge is being produced for KMRC by Dapol. The model features a heavy diecast chassis with all wheel pick up, NEM coupling pockets, printed nameplates with etched versions supplied, many separatly applied details parts. DC lighting with independent control of end lamps (push/pull/light engine) and cab lighting (controlled by switches) and with DCC fully controlled independent lighting: push/pull and light engine modes for head and tail lights, day/night headlamp selection and independent cab lighting (leading cab /trailing cab /off)

The Exclusive model is priced at £169.99 for DCC ready, £199.99 for DCC fitted and £299.99 for DCC exhaust smoke and sound fitted versions and all are available to pre-order with delivery expected Q1 2024.

A great announcement. I've been waiting for this livery to be announced by someone. Do you know if Dapol have fixed the lighting issues from the 1st batch as all the 59s had lighting thay was not correct for the classes and required modifications.

If you pre-order online the system will take a payment that will then be refunded within 24 hours (provided the item is not going to be available within 28 days). 
To avoid any payment being taken/refunded at the time of preorder Simply ring the shop to preorder.

Will be interesting to see how well it sells, I hope it does for KMRC sake, but the Bachmann 66 in the Aggregates livery was a really slow mover...

Because it was an odd ball and never seemed to work the trains it was painted for.

 

The 59/0’s however…
