It seems that this is the setup whether it's Hornby or TRS trains for locos with a double chimney. From looking at the excellent work of TRS trains on Facebook it looks like they also have to open out the chimney so that the divide is missing to allow the steam effect to work. Maybe someone can come up with a 3d printed double chimney that can somehow channel the steam through the chimney without the need to remove the divide.

From the announcement video by accurascale and Hornby magazine last year Steve talks about removing the body and even demonstrates it. As most of the detail from the hattons 66 that would ping of break or chip the paint has been moved to the chassis. From the video it looks nice and simple. Regards Gary

2007 is due to have working lamps with the steam generator. Google r3983ss and you'll see the Hornby listing. It's sold out with Hornby though.

Thats a interesting point about the lights then. Hopefully Hornby know about that.

Decorated samples Of the TPE 802 can be seen on the new Hornby signal box video on YouTube from the 8 minute mark. It looks nice. Not sure if any of the other 800 releases that have come through have had the lighting updated but apparently the TPE 802 Has day and night mode new seating and space for a bigger speaker.

Hi Craig I may have missed the announcement for it but I saw at the great electric train show that Hornby magazine are doing the cappagh and Royal blue vtg jna wagons and can be ordered through the website. Regards Gary

DCR Rail aswell as the puma livery would be great. 👍

Hopefully it's somthing new and not a duplication like a 40,47 or hst as there's just no need for it right now. Im going to say its a class 313 or a start of the electrostar family with a southern 377. We know revolution have ruled out 00 gauge versions. And accurascale was a sponsor for the last 313 Rail tour so that's what my money is on.

On a video about the new p2 on Hornby magazine channel the designer of the p2 said that the steam and sound version has the dcc chip located in the body near the generator. So maybe it'll be the same for flying scotsman. Regards Gary

Could be for the yet to come 2007 with steam and sound.

Is there a p2 sound file already? Possibly the old tts version? Regards Gary

I'm throwing in the mix that the accurascale exclusive could be a class 50 set in GBRF livery. Even though we've seen the other 66 waiting to be announced. Would still be nice for the 50s. Regards Gary

Looking back at my order for the P2 with hattons before they cancelled it back when was announced in 2021. It was listed as Earl Marischal" (original bodystyle). So I guess thats always been the plan for R3984. The engine shed blog showing the cad confused things slightly but it is what it is now. Some people will want both variations. Gary

Hornby have just confirmed on Facebook that this version of 2002 will be in as built condition. And that the design does cater for the additional smoke deflectors for a future release. Looking back at the previous engine shed blogs the samples coming through was always of 2002 without the smoke deflectors. Must admit I thought it was 2007. But at least 2002 will be released with the smoke deflectors in the future. Regards Gary

Good evening all. Can anyone tell me if 37409ncould be a suitable candidate for a simple re number to 37418? I don't really fancy the Bachmann 37418 from kernow models. And with caroline on the way I'd like to get an accurascale 37 renumbered etc to 37418 if I can get hold of 37409 that is. 37418 isn't on the cards atm from accurascale is it? Also trying to resist those fears wagons Regards Gary -
Hi guys, these look stunning I can't wait to see them up close at a show. A question about 66004 climate hero will the size of the tail lights/ marker lights be adjusted on the finished models as the tail/marker lights are closer to the size of the day and night headlights on the actual 66004 and other 66s that have had the upgrade. I totally understand if it's a limitation of the hattons tooling and that's how it'll be, but just wondered if it was on the to do list. Regards Gary
