RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted October 6, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 6, 2023 (edited) Does this particular Model have any reputation for Motor Mount Failure. OR, has anyone had one that developed such a problem? I obtained one, it's in as new Condition, BUT on opening up, the Motor Mount isn't sitting properly and the Motor Worm does not engage with the Axle Gears and I just can't see why. I've tried various things to 'set it down' but with no luck! I shall speak with Hornby as a last resort. Many thanks. RMweb Premium PMP Posted October 6, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 6, 2023 Phil, The Standard 4 does appear on the Mazak rot list and from your description it could be one of those affected. The don’t have a reputation as such from memory for this being widespread amongst them, but clearly worth checking. If it is an affected model contact Hornby, they may have spare chassis’s and fittings available.

Which doesn't appear to be available anywhere I've looked so far. Much appreciated though. I shall spend some time today having a good look at what's going on in the Frame and Mounts etc. Phil Phil

The Loco I think was part of an estate as it appeared to be unused and had probably been in a Box in a loft or Shed and then an Estate! Cost me £30. It's DCC Fitted too so I can't complain!
