Moderators Popular Post AY Mod Posted October 17, 2023 Moderators Popular Post Share Posted October 17, 2023 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-stoke-staffordshire-67122007 Quote A miniature steam railway has been put up for sale as its owner is to retire. The 10.25 inch gauge Leek and Rudyard Railway runs lakeside, on the site of original rail tracks, for 1.5 miles (2.4km) in Staffordshire. The sale includes track, three stations, an engine shed, cafe, two steam engines, two diesel engines and ten passenger coaches. The asking price is £495,000, and owner Simon Clarke said there had been immediate interest. I briefly entertained the idea when it was last up for sale but Mrs Y wasn't happy about living in the engine shed. 7 2 22

It does, except it's leasehold. Lovely location though. It was certainly bustling last time we called in during the summer hols. 3
Miss Prism
There's a ready-make trackbed between Birmingham and Manchester just crying out for a bit of permanent way, some trains and working signals. Half a mil for that lot is a bargain. 3
turbos
Is it DC or DCC? Are the couplings to NEM standards? Does the loco have real coal or is it just the manufacturers fake representation? What are the baseboards made of? So many questions, no answers in the article! 1
