locoholic
https://www.midlandsconnect.uk/about-us/projects/midlands-engine-rail/midlands-rail-hub/ Looks like the north and south curves into Birmingham Moor Street from the Camp Hill line might actually be built... 1
D7063
I though that there already was a turn back facility at Malvern Wells?

Yes can see the Nottingham - Cardiffs being diverted in to Moor Street. Change at Bromsgrove (northbound) or Tamworth (southbound) for New Street … or better still get on a SW-north train that still runs in to New Street . They need to stop the latter at Worcestershire Parkway if so … currently only the Cardiff - Nottinghams stop. And yes am pretty sure trains can already turn round at Malvern Wells - and Ledbury … although they may not bevtimetabled to do so 1
Wheatley
They'll do just enough to be able to say "Look we did something" then chop out all the other bits that actually make it work and blame the TOCs when the timetable falls apart. Viz: Ordsall Curve and the necessity to then create the Manchester Recovery Task Force to sort out the ensuing mess. RMweb Premium melmerby Posted March 5 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 5 BTW Midlands Rail Hub makes more sense if it is read in conjuction with HS2 as Moor Street and Curzon Street (which are next door to each other) will be directly connected for passengers. The fast London to Birmingham and Birmingham to Manchester services will be using that and not New Street. That will reduce the dependence on New Street as a Rail Hub.
