India Ink vs Acrylic Ink and paints?

Recommended Posts

I thought to try some inks for stains and weathering structures, India ink being recommended by old school modellers.  Then I discovered there are also acrylic inks.

Can they be used as a substitute for each other as washes, do they work just as well?

Water proof or not?

I bought a lot  of low cost acrylic paints from stores like the range to use for structures and scenic.

Is there anything to acrylic paint breaking down over time?

I can remove Indian ink wirh water and cif. Never tried acrylic instead but if its not water removable I wouldn't use them.

Remember if I do a commission and the owner doesn't  like it I need to get the weathering off!.

Acrylic is water soluble but permanent when dry.  However, Vallejo can be attacked by IPA (not the beer).

Not all acrylics are water based and IPA is good for removing lining from somecRTR items so be careful when using it...
