What are they called?

Recommended Posts

I need to cover two redundant 4mm holes in a control panel, and it occurs to me that the ideal thing would be those plastic slightly-domed discs of maybe 8mm diameter that cover screw heads in kitchen furniture and whatnot.  But what are these things called, so that I might order some online?

No argument here, Kieth, that's definitely Grommit.  But with a capital G and in the singular; grommits have small gs when they are not starting a sentence. and can be in the plural.  But a grommit to fill a hole in a door is an Escuction Plate, which I learned many years ago in a very traditional Ironmonger's shop after asking for a 'key'ole to go inna door'.  Fork Handles, mate...

Gromit, as in Wallace and, only has one m.

Mispelt regularly with 2 x m if you look on the web, me included.
