Last Train

post-10377-0-82068600-1339176391_thumb.jpg

On 30th December 2008 RHDR No 7 'Typhoon' leaves Dungeness with the 15.00 for Hythe.

The last train of the day.

Super shot - I like the opportunities RHDR gives for those kind of pics that fool the viewer into believing they are "full size" trains. Here's one of mine

Hardly part of the national network, but this is a railway after all!

post-10377-0-18430000-1339259904_thumb.jpg

Some of the remaining 15" lines laid to carry catches of fish from the increasingly distant shore up to the road at Dungeness. A few of these lines still just survive the raveges of time and the sea.

I have no idea where the out of gauge wheels come from, maybe another 'home made' railway on th the baech.

Semaphores and a HST, very nice ;-)

A creeping sense of deja vu made me check back through the entire thread, I now realise some that four or five of the photos I've posted this week have been posted before, over a year ago in some cases.... oops!

I do wish I had even half the talent of those who post regularly in this thread. Some truly stellar stuff.

Here's one of mine, I don't think it's a patch on those above but I thought it was a bit different to the normal pics of City of Truro.

Looks pretty creative to me!

I love the way the light picks out Truro's rivets.
