br2975
Today's it 's an everyday sight, it borders upon mundane. . The day after tomorrow, it'll be history. . I mentioned 'recording the mundane' or 'the everyday' in another thread. . I'll set the ball rolling with a refurbished Canton Cl.116 Derby 'bug' at Cardiff Central on a Merthyr bound service Tuesday 15th. May, 1979 . Anyone else care to join in, it doesn't have to be historical, just . . . well, mundane ? . Brian R

10800
We need to record the mundane to avoid all the 90% sunny front 3/4 locomotive only shots we pre-digital researchers have to deal with! A wet Shrewsbury, 30 March 2007 Barnetby, 31 July 2007 - 153375 on a Lincoln-Cleethorpes and a 185 on a Manchester Airport-Grimsby Exeter St Davids, 3 July 2008 375920 arrives at Headcorn, 5 December 2008. Even non-enthusiast commuters know to avoid 3759s if at all possible with their cramped 2+3 seating. And they can't get the number spacing consistent either! SWT442
A few from me. A good thread, today it's boring and samey but one day it'll all change. br2975
On Monday, 14th. May, 1979 there was nothing more 'mundane' than a '25' . In this case, 25236 stabled outside the servicing shed and beneath the footbridge at Canton . Now the 'loco' side of Canton is gone, the footbridge closed off, the 25's are history, as is the 'Zenit B' camera and handheld exposure meter I used ! . m davies
A few mundane's from my area Trimley local train Ipswich stabling Barham Couple from Shenfield, first early on a cold frosty morning, second later in the day. Some Sheds on the never ending and ever increasing converyor belt of Freightliners to Felixstowe. Some 90s on Freightliner and Express duties on the GE main line, Barham and Ipswich. Lastly a class 57 where I work, now long gone but always there in the back ground when they did work the Freightliners, we thought they'd be there for ever, they were not. RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted November 2, 2009 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 2, 2009 Now just a memory, Dean Lane, for Hewton Heath. A very worthy thread. More mundane but so vitally important is the actual infrastructure. Make sure you are all snapping the whole scene which will be so important as reference when I and others have long since been scrapped. Sincerely, Big Yellow Taxi. Pugsley
Now just a memory, Dean Lane, for Hewton Heath. I'd just like to point out that what you've recorded there is far from Mundane - it was during the brief period that Sprinters were released to traffic without full yellow ends B) mdavies - your pic of the Fred with the cranes behind is far from mundane - it's a really nice photo.
