Getting better each day as Wendy will confirm by the amount of food I ate on Christmas day. Still feeling very tired and they are still trying to get the warfarin level right. Anyway many thanks for all your comments, Andy, Jaz, Jamie Ray & Polly and everyone else and hope you all had a merry Christmas and wishing you all a very happy new year. Yes Ray would love to have you come and visit and talk about dcc and also your method of magnets for Kadee couplings. plus anyone else who would like to visit to stop the boredom. tender
Hi Peter, Hope you're feeling better. Just noticed a picture from GTD made the Hornby Magazine Calendar, 'January 2014' and one from Loch Inch in September, you kept them quiet. Ray. Andy Hi Peter, Hope you're feeling better. Just noticed a picture from GTD made the Hornby Magazine Calendar, 'January 2014' and one from Loch Inch in September, you kept them quiet. Ray. Hi Ray & Andy Of course I kept it quiet, didn't know a thing about it myself until I got the mag the other day. Good to see you last week Ray, have now started working on Watermill Halt at house with the 2 boards up but could you please let me know what magnets and from where are the ones you used on Camel Quay? Cheers Peter

daz3359
Hi Just looking back over your photos, you do some excellent modern image locomotives running and some are expertly weathered, do you weather your wagons yourself as you do a great job I have to say, those tankers are superbly done and the coaches in the sidings are out of this world, your weathering is second to none. Is this layout all DCC running, I saw it at the Gaydon recently and have to say was brilliant to see it in the flesh, shame the stock I wanted to see didn't seem to be there or have running. Is this layout due out again this year and if so whereabouts will you be at. Thank you are brilliant layout I have to say. DS
7APT7
Regarding all Peters layouts.... They are all excellent, his modelling is excellent and one of the best and better than most ay exhibitions and would have to agree with you there, Jamie
trisonic
Peter certainly delivers the goods. He just gets on with it and makes some of the best layouts on the planet. I can't think of one of his that I have not liked. Best, Pete.
trains12
Hi Just looking back over your photos, you do some excellent modern image locomotives running and some are expertly weathered, do you weather your wagons yourself as you do a great job I have to say, those tankers are superbly done and the coaches in the sidings are out of this world, your weathering is second to none. Is this layout due out again this year and if so whereabouts will you be at. Thank you are brilliant layout I have to say. DS Hi DS Thanks for the comments on the layout also from Jamie and Pete. I think the wagons and engine that you mean are from Jamie's collection. I do most of my weathering but at present on GTD the modern image stock has not all been done. With so much stock needed to run a full service we have taken the decision that at shows we ask the organisaer in which era he would like the layout to run, ie BR days 1950-1968 or the present day. At Gaydon it was to run like it appeared in the mag. It also was not running to its best due to Jamie and Richard not being able to attend at the last moment and also a problem on the front due to transporting it to the show. Still have not found it. At present the layout is DC but I have just taken the step to venture into the dark and complex doings ( at least for me) of DCC (see Water Mill halt)The cost is going to have to be spread over some time. 400 plus engines to convert and 7 layout to re wire and convert. I hope it will be worth it in the end. At present it has no other shows booked but if you are up here in North Wales you can always pop in and see the viewing sides up and running down at the shop unit.Just PM me for further details. Had got some of the details done in cad then went and B...........r it up will have to start again on it. I now have 4 cad packages but still cannot get any of to do want I want . I am now thinking of drawing them out on the drawing board and then scanning to cad and converting them to 3D STL files. Will keep you all informed on the progress. Heart permitting. trains12
Hi All As many of you know 18 months ago coming back from the Great Electric show the board containing the main hopper building and a few other items over balanced in the van and ended up a little bit damaged. Anyway I have now statred to repair this ready for its next show at the GCR show next year. So here are a few shots of the work in hand. I have still not maid up my mind if I am going to convert it to DCC. I will not be doing the points, those will be left with Seep PM4's an micro switches and worked from the studs on the panel. Anyway some other work will also be carried out to bring it up to the currect standard of the latter layouts Bof M and Glen Gillie. Peter

trains12
Hi all Here are a few more shots of the continuing repair work to the main hopper building. At this end of the building there are only a few more little bits to do and then it is the painting. At the other end and the tower there is still some fencing to replace. One thing that was pointed out to me is that the clock face has never had its hands put on, will have to dig out the Scalelink fret and add the hands. Cheers Peter
