d winpenny
just a quick update to let people know i haven't disappeared progress has been slow due to money and personal problems of late but the has been some changes being implemented in the yard area of the layout with a new track layout to be finalised, i have bought some more Hornby HAAs bringing my total to 24 just another 8 to get and thats will at least two rakes of wagons complete, with the JGAs needing 2 more. the MBAs have been sold on as well as the rail track PNAs, david
Grimleygrid
Hi David, You can’t beat a nice rake of HAAs, especially behind a Grid! I do like those Tarmac JGAs, I wouldn’t mind some of those myself for Grimley. The last time I saw those in action was behind 60007 on Teesside a week or so before it was stored back in 2008. Superb! Look forward to more photos.
Gallows Close
Hello David, The HAA's look great! i have bought some more Hornby HAAs bringing my total to 24 It looks like from the photos a page back that your HAA's are a mix of the old Hornby ones and the new. If that is so how do the running qualities of each compare? I ask, as all mine are really old ones picked up second hand, and as such I have not dabbled with the much more expensive new version. Best regards, Chris.

Gallows Close
Hello David, I love the photo of the two HAA rakes alongside each other. It looks very much like Milford Sidings with all that stock lined up. Love the Grids too. Best wishes, Chris.

d winpenny
just an update to let people know that the layout in its current state for is now hanging in the balance in the near future i will be moving in with my girlfriend into a flat so sadly no room for a large layout like this so dowsizing is on the cards, i have already sold the old Hornby haas and the meas still got the jgas, bdas and new haas for now, now sure how down sized i am going to go or what sort of layout i am going to try next may sell the baseboard and start form scratch, my local model shop has a few prebuilt layouts in the back im going to look at them too see if there is any i like and see if he will part ex. thank you to everyone who has followed the layout in its current state i will update when i know more david
Gallows Close
Hello David, Its a pity you'll have to bring this project to a premature end - Hoping you get special permission for something smaller in the flat. Good luck, Chris.
d winpenny
it is a shame but hey maybe later on in life ill be able to have room for something even bigger, but for now im thinking an end to end style layout will have to do david
d winpenny
right here is the latest update, after much thought i have decided to attempte a modular end to end style layout made up of 6ft (maybe 8ft) by 2ft sections so i will start with 2 fiddle yard areas at each end and create a senic section for the middle and in time add more modules as and when the previouse one is completed. i am going to try and sell all my current base boards not sure i am going to go about this as yet, and i may sell my jgas too if i get a decent offer david
d winpenny
only put my previous post yeterday and i have already changed my mind i am going to keep some of my current baseboards and use them for the new layout. the clearance crew cam in yesterday and all the track is packed up ready to take to the local model shop for exchange for some flexi track and cork and balast etc so i can get started on the first senic board. when ive collected all the bits i will be starting a new thread to keep it easier to follow david
