The tender is dry & i have bolted it togetter again I still need to drill a hole in the top for the wires for a light that may be fitted later

heres what i have got done so far today

 

solded the 2 part that are the front platform togetter & then on to the chassie

then i added the bearings in to the motermount/gearbox & folded it up adding the gears

the I solded up the 6 cranks up each is made up of 4 pieces plus a 12ba bolt

Today i have made a start on the firebox there were 7 etch brass parts plus lots of lost wax castings

 

heres the 1st 2 parts solded togetter with mounting nut inside

well almost there I will be starting painting tomorrow. The kit go togetter in blocks this helps with painting I still have to make a mount for the specker but that will not take long

so here is how it looks now but since thses photos were taken loco has had a wash & once dry i will put it all togetter & take a photo or 2

Some how I have managed to miss this build - must have had my eyes closed

 

Some very impressive work there

 

I would love to think I could tackle something like that one day

Impressive build there Brian. It is not my cup-of-tea as a modelling prototype goes and I haven't the faintest idea about "Continental" (ie US) prototypes. But it does look like a well planned kit.

 

(Oh, also have to comment - that barbed wire also looks the business.

I have been slowly working on a Building a Boulder Valley models KD01 Delux Cab Conversion kit over 3 or 4 months today i have got it to the stage were I can give it a coat of primmer & as the loco is to be finished in Yellow I have used Halfords White primmer

I like the Hunslet.

I have a spare Praire Chassis here I wonder if that would fit it

what is its lenth the body before i took out some of it would have built up as 110mm from the smokebox to the bunker but would have had a platform in front of the smokebox before the buffer beam so would be longer

which Praire is it ??
