Mr Brunel
Hello, I have a Bachmann Scenecraft waiting room (44-013) - it has a distinct Midland appearance, and I would be grateful if anyone could advise me on what colours/techniques to make it appear more GWR. Do I just use the standard Light/Dark Stone, or are there other ways? Thanks in advance.
RMweb Premium Kris Posted March 6, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 6, 2011 Changing the colours would be a start but I would also be looking at changing the barge boards and finials
RMweb Gold 57xx Posted March 6, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 6, 2011 That would be a start, also either fill in or cover over the ornate carvings in the barge boards. [edit]Kris beat me to it
Mr Brunel
Thanks very much - I did Google, but there were many conflicting styles (for example, Hornby's 2011 GWR building which is coloured more like a Southern type).
RMweb Gold 96701 Posted March 6, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 6, 2011 It's not just the buildings, either - note the footbridge at Ross-on-Wye. Typical GWR.
