It is terrible to hear that another model shop has been engulfed by Modezone and Hobbycraft! I am a big shopper of independant stores as myself and my husband own a model shop that is moving to the Hull area. We are in the process of negotiations to open a shop in Beverley so I would love to see you all there and keeping the indpendant sshopping experience alive.

Yes some of you might see this as back handed advertising but I assure you that it isn't and I am passoniate about keeping all independant model shop alive and kicking!

That's an aim we generally share but as you say the post is not intended to be advertising I have removed the avatar which was a business logo and the hyperlink to your website. rolleyes.gif

Come out of Paragon by the south entrance onto Anlaby Road, continue west past the Infirmary complex to a crossroads with traffic lights, then head south down Rawling Way until you see a large flyover smack in front of you. Head right (west) there and that's Hessle Road - 53A is at no 430

Turn right and a cinder path leads you to the shed.

Sorry, couldn't resist - never did get to Hull Dairycoates !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hull area? Beverley isn't Hull area, it's a cut above that!

WHere abouts in Beverley?! We live in a village not far from Bev so are there quite - are you going to provide me with temptation every time I'm in town?!

  • 1 year later...

In Hull and surounding area choices are currently limited. At the moment we have:

  • 53A Models, Hessle Road - dedicated Model railways only shop.
  • Modelzone, St Stephens Shopping Centre (next to the railway station) - fair selection of RTR in OO and N plus variable range of accessories but expect to pay near RRP for everything.
  • Hobycraft, Kingston Park - Hornby RTR sometimes at decent prices and suprizingly good range of tools/building materials/scenic products.
  • Just Kits, Hessle Road - Radio Control Cars/Planes/Boats specialist. Does not stock railway specific items but useful for tools & materials.
