updating hornbys class 37

  • 8 years later...

I know this is an old thread I have dug up but it came up on a google search and has provided valuable inspiration and assistance while I repainted one of my Triang 37s.

I recently decided that I was going to repaint a Mehano Class 66 in GBRf 66789 - see 3.5mm British HO section of this forum - and thought I would use an old 37 as a test bed and respray it into LL blue. As it (appeared) to go well, I ordered up some Railtec decals and finished it off as 37403. I have only really changed the buffers - one day it might get the headcode blanking plates............there will be other parts that are inaccurate but I don't really care. I enjoyed the repainting process and I am happy with the result and an old loco that I have shown no interest in for over 30 years has provided a couple of hours of entertainment.

A big thanks to carl1967 and everyone else who have shared their efforts,
