RMweb Gold Garry D100 Posted May 27, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 27, 2011 Some good news about the Foxline Publishing book range. Received from Kevin Robertson Books newsletter today. "One other item of news is that David Allen of Booklaw, no connection with Ian Allan Ltd., has taken over the former Foxline list and titles from the late Greg Fox. He has promised a number of reprints as well as new titles in similar format to the existing series." I always enjoy these books, look forward to some of the reprints of hard to find editions. coachmann
It is good news that some of the books will be reprinted by Booklaw and just as importantly, that there will be further new titles. Foxline authors have known of the change of ownership for some time and it will be interesting to see which of the titles are released seeing as some of the North Wales albums by Bill Rear were always being asked for. Good news indeed, though some of the authors will have passed on too, for example Bill Rear is no longer with us.
Galtee More
Following the posts on RM Web, I've spoken to David Allen at one of our weekly sessions at the pub. We drafted a response for posting on RM Web. Book Law has acquired Foxline following the sad passing of Greg Fox. David Allen is keen to see the Foxline imprint continue with both reprints, revisions and new titles. The first revised title was released at the NOTTINGHAM East Midlands EXHIBITION last March. This was Railways Around Nottingham by Bill Taylor. This has extra pages and now a colour section too. A number of new titles are currently being prepared and include: The Derbyshire Lines Part 2: Chesterfield to Nottingham Victoria by Ken Grainger. The Cambrian Coast Main Line Derek Lowe Included in the first reprints will be Return to Pwllheli Please. Release dates are not firm yet, but it is planned for several titles to be ready for the WARLEY NATIONAL EXHIBITION this November and more for the NOTTINGHAM East Midlands EXHIBITION in March 2012. In addition, several reprints of the late Bill Rear titles will be coming through late summer. Details will be announced when further news is available. At least that should make Coachman happy ! coachmann
Thanks for the info. It is some time since Part One of the Derbyshire Lines was done (I did the front and back covers). It is not an area I knew but the original book was very interesting for all that. Cambrian Coast books are always welcome!
