Will J
Hi All, this will appear in a more detailed blog arrangement before too long, but for now, some progress on my Google Sketchup body to sit on a Dapol Terrier chassis, about to be printed in finest FUD by Shapeways... fingers crossed. It is meant to be one of these: http://www.uksteam.info/wsr/picsc/01080635.jpg For now, here are some pics. The trouble with CAD work is you end up staring at a screen for so long you can't bring yourself to type much afterwards. I promise I will post more after some sleep! RMweb Premium Steven B Posted November 15, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 15, 2011 Looking good. I've often wondered if any small 0-6-0 tender engines can be built from the Terrier chassis. Happy modelling. Steven B.
Tricky-CRS
Interesting, I have a couple of spare terrier chassis.

Will J
For those wondering what the Dapol terrier chassis is like, in terms of clearances around the motor, see this related thread: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/46352-Dapol-terrier-n-chassis/ Which shows the beginnings of this particular experiement! RMweb Premium Steven B Posted November 16, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 16, 2011 Ilfracombe goods? I was thinking more of an L&Y 25 or 27 class. Happy modelling. Steven B.

simon br blue
http://www.rmweb.co....and-looks-good/ Its arrived! Getting to like this printing malarkey.... That looks nice. have you tried it on the chassis? One question about the print - on the saddle tanks are the white'ish areas running down from the dome and chimney flush with the body or slightly raised? Will J
I have offered it up and it seems like it will fit nicely, but I need to remove the original bufferbeam detail from the Dapol chassis before it will sit down properly.. I will post some pics soon. The white bits visible on the top surface of the tank are the integral 'webs' that you can see in the cross section CAD drawing in the first post of this thread. They serve no real purpose, apart from to locate the body on the top of the (flat) motor housing.
