Coach bogie
Sorry John. Anorak moment again. No Granges were ever lined in Great Western Days. Arlington Grange, entered service in August 1936 in plain green and roundel on the tender. Your model now has the 'Garter' crest, abolished in the late 1920's. 1936 ex works piccy here http://www.railuk.info/gallery/notes/getimage.php?id=871 In BR day, when the regions regained their independence in the mid fifties, lined green return to Western locos including the Granges, though many were then running with a larger 4000 gallon tender. As a Penzance loco from new Arlington Grange was still there (apart from a brief spell at Carmarthen in 1953) and running with the small tender in lined BR livery in the early 1960's. http://www.steamarchive.co.uk/GWR/Library_03.htm 6800's last days were at Newport, now attached to the larger tender. I am enjoying your A3 progress. Well done. Regards Mike Wiltshire
