'CHARD
Now there's an offer! You know he's got the recipe! And now I've gone the route of acquiring a tokenistic GTi I reckon you owe it yourself!

Bob Reid
Was it 5355 right enough Ian? (I am actually serious about it - honest) - and did the roof as it looks to me remain grey?
Pennine MC
It was Bob, it was contemporary with the numerically similar 5335. Couldnt reply fully at lunchtime, the usual work browser/Rmweb tantrums I'm afraid.

BrushVeteran
Well if Jamie doesn't take you up on it Dave I'll have this one from "Studio Dave" http://canmore.rcahm...details/766710/ (GLYPBNRTSNSRTCRUBGSU) Green Largish Yellow Panel But Not Round The Side No Stripe Tablet Catcher Recess Unplated But Gangway Sealed Up - August 1970, and posibly 5355 (from six-bells - it's an SRPS special it's on) - Better known as Economy Green? - Ian did tell me the number once but I've forgotten what it was... See also here http://canmore.rcahm...details/766790/ and here http://canmore.rcahm...details/766819/ The current tooling for the ScR Heljan 27 with token recesses is dated for the time they had gangway doors fitted. 5355 had a 'flush' front end with these doors sealed so at present this cannot be accurately represented. However once the existing tooling has been modified then there is a likelihood that things could change........... 0O00
Hi Guys Have just bought D5356 in all green but wondered what livery variations said loco appeared in during the 1960's particularly with its table catcher recess and gangway doors present? GSYP, GFYE? Presume it wore a coat of blue at the end of the 60's? Thanks Alex
Trevor H
Hi Guys Have just bought D5356 in all green but wondered what livery variations said loco appeared in during the 1960's particularly with its table catcher recess and gangway doors present? GSYP, GFYE? Presume it wore a coat of blue at the end of the 60's? Thanks Alex Loco carried Green before receiving GSYP, only other change to D5356 was in 1969 when it received GFY, retaining its white cab side windows and lining. Tablet catcher recess and connecting doors with were still in position and the loco carried this livery up to at least Aug 73. Loco was renumbered in Nov 73 and this 3 month period I can't account for, with no evidence of it carrying blue pre TOPS or green into TOPS, but most probably received blue livery when renumbered. Jamie
For clarity, did D5356 miss out the application of yellow panels circa 1962?
Trevor H
For clarity, did D5356 miss out the application of yellow panels circa 1962? It did carry GSY and have edited accordingly.

Trevor H
Sorry Trevor, a bit of Monday morning pedantry from me there! No problem Jamie, I must admit to not reading Alex's question in full first time round, definitely a Monday morning.

Tony M
Saw this today on their facebook page: "6 new samples received! We have just received samples of our next batch of Class 27-models and look forward to going over the details!"
Jamie
Mmm, lovely lovely 27s. BSYP is just wonderfully odd, I still think the livery wants white window surrounds to look right though (albeit in a AC electric -esque way).
Stewart
Jamie, I agree the BSYP looks great. 5389 (minus the 'D') at Dundee July 1970 seen here - from Bush Veteran's site suggests they've got it right though. The turn of the decade 68-72 is just so damed colourful! Probably the most intersting variation of liveries until we got to the sectorisation/privatisiation era? Strange that in amongst that Heljan selection that there's no GFYP version? Regards, Stewart
Jamie
Aye Stewart, it's accurate as depicted, I know. Just think BR's painters missed a trick with the prototype livery. I'm waffling on.
