Modern flat bottom, mechanically-operated point

When out and about on The Captain's Travels this week, I visited Moreton-in-Marsh to inspect some of the recent track work undertaken there, and took some shots of the new points into the Down Refuge siding, which were renewed a few weeks ago. They are not yet connected to the rodding, by the way, so the siding is temporarily out of use:

I must commend the person who did the ballasting, they've managed to keep it all neat and tidy, with no PVA on the sleepers and no unsightly holes in the ballast where the diluted glue has dropped from a pipette!... ;)

Useful reference images here, TIm - particularly the ones showing the join between the crossing V and wing rail. I expect John & Rod (10800 & Re6/6) will be grateful , if it's not too late for the Matford track rebuild....

Yes Rich we are. I'm building some new pointwork for the revised (not too much) track plan. You can never have too much info on flatbottom S & C work.

Thanks Rich, but I only drive trains on Matford! But it's nice to have some good P&C under the wheels anyway!
