mattog
I've looked everywhere on the web for an image of an actual SR Frogman's Hut. Anyone know where I can find one?

AberdeenBill
There are pictures of an old style (rickety planks held together with ceresote) hut and its new style (concrete) replacement at Brockenhurst in http://www.amazon.co.uk/Southern-Region-Flashback-Western-Hampshire/dp/1906419663/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334596665&sr=8-1 and many other fantastic photos, too... Campaman
There used to be a couple on the old Market Harborough to Northampton line until they built houses on it, just really a basic concrete hut, concrete roof with a wooden door, probably about double the floorspace of an old style telephone box. stadman
The St James' Park one is still there, or at least I think it's there hiding under some ivy of the right shape and size. Also today similar near Blackboy Tunnel - Exmouth Junction and near Newcourt. The latter may be seen from a footpath that runs nearby.

RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted May 11, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 11, 2012 Apologies to the OP for perpetuating his misery, but it is my belief that a number of Southern staff, in both Southern Railway and BR days, were qualified divers, and would be paid to examine underwater structures. I believe these would have been civil engineering staff, and I think I knew of at least one in the SE Divisional Civil Engineer's office. This must have been considerably cheaper than engaging the services of an external firm employing divers with civil engineering competences. Natalie's pic shows a car that looks like something off the NY subway system.
