RSLR
Hi,I've now started on my stack of buildings, first up is this Ratio Station kit. Just trying to get some interior research data so I can continue. I will be fitting another one of my famous interiors to it as soon as I know where everything goes. The kit itself is going together nicely and the amount of plastic you get is quite good for the price (I got mine cheaply). My question thread can be found here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/85638-castle-cary/Input is welcome.Cheers, Reece
RSLR
Naturally here is another picture of 34007 WadebridgeAnd then because it was Murder on the Atlantic Coast Express this guy with the upside down moustache got involved and this other dude died briefly, naturally the public enjoyed it, had their grub served at their seats, won a few goodies for guessing who killed him etc and I was out taking pictures and I didn't get home until late in the evening. He's dead Jim! ^Meanwhile FGW man was out gardeningDark with all locos on shedAnd finally here's another picture of WadebridgeAs you can probably guess we used the dinning set.Cheers, Reece
RSLR
While the search for information continues on station building I've made some Palm Trees. These are the large leafy type, I've made four so far. I would like to make some fan type ones... it's just making the leafs, it's so repetitive. With these though I'm quite surprised with the way they've turned out so far, I'll dig out the airbrush to paint them at some point.I face palm after just making these. RSLR
Good evening,The Station Building is progressing nicely with the interior finally being fitted. Two doors have been fitted, one to the Ladies and another... well to the Ladies. And another partition to the Booking office.Mean while Reece has been working on his Pub which will go behind the Station. Naturally he chose a local prototype, taken many photographs, taken more than a few measurements and made a load of notes on detail observation. Then produced a drawing of the front, the left side, the right side, the rear side and a floor plan.Reece has cut out one wall and is enjoying the Stone work.Cheers, Reece

RSLR
Hi Reece, love the palm trees! How do you score in the stone work? Hello Rich, Thanks for the kind comment. For the stone work I use one of the scribing tools available but I basically work my way from the bottom up making courses of stones like the prototype, I'd normally have a few pictures in front of me for inspiration and a ruler to scale the stones. I find it doesn't take too long to do a wall this size. Cheers, Reece

RSLR
Hello,This is what I've been doing over the last few days:That pretty much explains the above ^Mean while I got these for £2.50 (the lot) And then I painted them... 4 hours later that evening:Earlier that week inside the stationMean while else where in the modelling world you may remember the layout I helped my friend with, I believe I mentioned back along. Well progress he's made so far :I made this 'farm' scene for him during my visitThe Class 121 DMU also had an outing.Due to us both getting bored of ballasting that evening I produced this device the next day to my specifications - Facebook Description:''Built this from bits of scrap plastic. Made to ballast Code 75 it will also do Code 100.Got inspiration when I was at Simon's Railway yesterday attempting to ballast with a brush which took ages.''Else where mean while = Train travel to model railway showsEtc etc, if you would like to know more on any of the above please comment Cheers, Reece

treggyman
Hi Reece You've certainly been busy!!!! Creamery!!!....A new project or adding Lostwithiel to your layout? Cheers Bill
RSLR
Thanks for the kind comments ^The Creamery has been in the plan, but I think the idea first developed way back when the old RMweb was going and I seen Alan's AKA Westerner's Creamery on his layout which I believe he built from the same kit. Ever since then I've always wanted to get and try out building that particular kit for the same purpose. However on mine I've left it whole because my Creamery will be quite large. On the plan it fills an otherwise blank gap as well as adds some life and an industry to the layout, it also provides the opportunity to run my trains of Milk tanks.Progress so far: I think you can see what's going on Cheers, Reece

RSLR
Painting...More Painting...Don't worry I'll have this finished soon.
RSLR
With the above going on etc, trying to keep myself busy and prevent myself from getting bored with the one daunting or repetitive task, I have lots of projects on the go.One of which I think you'll recall was a station building for the Up Platform. The work on the station building interior has once again resumed after buying some 2mm planking from KMRC, the last few evenings I've been adding the planking and skirting boards - Now that task is done, my attention moves onto the Gents toilets... really can't believe I'm looking for sizes of urinals. Among other things the building requires mass amounts of furniture and two more fire places. So I think I'll be here a while yet. I've now after many hours fitted the boarding, skirting boards and so on.
RSLR
Something else I've been playing around with today. Trying to strip off the Airfix caked on paint etc and making way for vast amounts of detailing components etc. Same will eventually go for the Hornby 14xx which will become 1419. treggyman
Hi Reece Just catching up...... Some excellent work on the creamery & station building....... Is the autocoach going to be painted blue/grey & be hauled by a Rat ????? Cheers Bill
RSLR
And that's about as far as I've got, the paint is pretty caked on in places, this is the better side, the other side is pretty bad and it's extremely hard to remove without destroying the plastic = The urge to dip the thing in cellulose thinners is growing! But unfortunately that would leave me with creamy coloured goo, oh why can't it be made of metal I'd have this thing done in five. I'm going to go up the workshop and try the mini sandblaster on it see if that shifts the caked on red Airfix mess.Meanwhile elsewhere in the mind of the model maker: Sort of want a station like this but not so squashed up... over 14ft of platforms to fill with canopies, buildings, furniture, lamps, people and palm trees. Getting abit stuck on prototype inspiration for my station house Hi Reece Just catching up...... Some excellent work on the creamery & station building....... Is the autocoach going to be painted blue/grey & be hauled by a Rat ????? Cheers Bill Hello Bill,Indeed don't think you've visited RSLR's Messed up thread for a few years days. Thanks for the kind comment, I'm still working on me Creamery, it taken ages to paint the front wall of the white building so I'm going to get a couple cans of white to see if it goes faster for the other two sides. tis all getting there though. The smaller building is progressing nice. The station building should hopefully get a roof at some point Just for you Bill I'll put a Rat hauling the Autocoach... perhaps with the 14xx on the end being recued because it failed on the branch. However for prototypical accuracy I'm not painting the coach in BR Blue/Grey as appealing that may be.Cheers, Reece
RSLR
Behold the Autocoach with no livery Should look good going up and down the branch once finished.... should I decide to operate steam locos on my layout.
