RMweb Premium Blandford1969 Posted May 2, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 2, 2012 Over the last couple of years many members have helped me identify some of my unidentified station locations. I have been putting some new ones up of late and am hoping that someone might know where these are: http://www.flickr.com/photos/29644579@N07/6955186244/in/photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/29644579@N07/7101254935/in/photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/29644579@N07/6955185384/in/photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/29644579@N07/6955184788/in/photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/29644579@N07/6955183194/in/photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/29644579@N07/6955182658/in/photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/29644579@N07/7101251017/in/photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/29644579@N07/6955181324/in/photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/29644579@N07/7101247939/in/photostream The last two have had me beaten for the last 10 years or so with the penultimate one having three separate views. Can anyone help? Many thanks in advance for looking and any offerings, it all helps to narrow where they are! kind regards Duncan
andyman7
The first and fourth ones are the same location, but looked at from both ends. Still don't know where though, sorry!

RMweb Premium Blandford1969 Posted May 3, 2012 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted May 3, 2012 Thanks for the suggestions, I'm not sure about Masham as the roofline is different and the yard, which we appear to be looking at is to the right in this photo but the left at Masham. http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/m/masham/index.shtml Please keep the suggestions coming kind regards Duncan
RMweb Gold highpeakman Posted May 4, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 4, 2012 The fencing is LMS/Midland style. Can't help further though.
RMweb Premium Andy Kirkham Posted May 4, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 4, 2012 I believe the penultimate one is the terminus of the Brecon & Merthyr's Rhymney branch, closed in 1930 when the line was cut back to New Tredegar.
lmsforever
The first one could be in Northumberland on the Rothbury branch but not sure.
RMweb Premium Blandford1969 Posted May 6, 2012 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted May 6, 2012 The sixth one is the Derwent Valley Platform at Cliff Common. Many thanks , I've updated that image The first one could be in Northumberland on the Rothbury branch but not sure. It certainly has a North British feel to the building, sadly none on the Rothbury branch fit with the small canopy. I think its the right way though. I believe the penultimate one is the terminus of the Brecon & Merthyr's Rhymney branch, closed in 1930 when the line was cut back to New Tredegar. Do you know the name of that station? RMweb Premium Andy Kirkham Posted May 6, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 6, 2012 Do you know the name of that station? Sorry, my wording didn't make this clear. The station is called Rhymney. But according to my source (Steam in South Wales by Michael Hale - Volume 4 - Monmouthshire); "At various tines it was called 'Pontlottyn'. 'Pwll Uchaf' or 'Lower' to distinguish it from its RR counterpart."
RMweb Premium Blandford1969 Posted May 6, 2012 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted May 6, 2012 Andy, Thanks ever so much for the additional information, of all the unidentified locations in my collection, this has been the most difficult and it has been over 10 years since I started looking for an answer to where it was. Kind regards Duncan
