55F
Having spent the last eighteen months baseboard building, track laying and electifying I decided it was time to take a few locomotives out of their boxes and give them a run, most of the testing has been done with an 0-4-0 st. Despite having done little running, most of them performed very well.......even some fairly antique models..........of course the more recent models are simply superb! However two or three Hornby locos fitted with ringfield motors have a pretty loud screech. Restrained lubrication has failed to correct the problem and I wondered if any members had thoughts on causes and solutions please. Many thanks 55F
RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted July 4, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 4, 2012 All the ones I've had needed lubrication in the right place - have you tried a tiny bit on the end of the centre bearing ?
