pcc4199
Any improvements, detail, motor, etc. on this just released version of the 101? Cheers. Andy, Burlington, Ont.
RMweb Premium brushman47544 Posted July 12, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 12, 2012 It looks like the previous Limby releases to me. Except that the Blue/Grey version looks a bit odd... It carries set number 101 324 on DMBS M50318(?) and DMCL M50335, both of which have an additional (head)light centred above the destination blind window. I don't remember the extra headlight surviving that late or even if correct for the vehicles modelled, but no doubt someone else will clarify this. Otherwise it's not a bad model and the bodywork tooling is good. The poor underframe detail and lack of lights put it behind the latest Bachmann 105 and 108 and we can assume its own forthcoming 101. RMweb Premium John M Upton Posted July 13, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 13, 2012 Weird, that blue/grey version carries the old top lamp but also has a much much later orange cant rail stripe around the front!! Vote with the wallets on this one, leave it on the shelf and wait for the inevitably better Bachmann version.
RMweb Premium Gwiwer Posted July 13, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 13, 2012 One 101 is enough here. Limbo-Hornby will only cut it until such time as something better comes along. Doesn't like running mated with a bubble-car either despite being the same provenance.
