RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted August 9, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 9, 2012 The kids took me to the newly opened Harry Potter World near Watford. What an excellent attraction this is and the modelling especially of Hogwarts Castle would give Pendon a run for their money !The photos are poor due to the lighting in there to give it effect. The model is 1/24th scale and was used in the films in different scenes and distance shots helped with CGI along the way. The O gauge Castle/Hall is in a cabinet in the shop for £130.Disappointed the platform scene at KX wasn't at the attraction.

Is this Hornby's reaction to Dapol's intention to make RTR O more affordable? Clearly model of the Year...
brossard
Is this Hornby's reaction to Dapol's intention to make RTR O more affordable? Clearly model of the Year... Wouldn't that be cool! However, there is only one model of this loco in O gauge that I am aware of - from Lionel: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=hogwarts+express+lionel A friend of mine bought one - my impression was that it is execrable. It's hard to confirm that it is the Lionel "model" from just the front view. John

The Lionel "model" doesn't have flanges on the center drivers and to my eye it is way too short. Cheers John
