With demand for weathered vehicles ever increasing Bachmann Europe Plc has today released details of weathered multiple units in OO scale.

These include the BR green 4CEP EMU (31-425B) No. 7141, 4CEP EMU in green with small yellow warning panel (31-426B) No. 7128, the First North Western Class 150 (32-925A) and the Windhoff Multi-Purpose Vehicle (31-577A) in Railtrack livery (No’s DR98910 / DR98960).

David Haarhaus, European Sales & Marketing Manager of Bachmann Europe Plc said “demand for weathered items is unprecedented and we have decided to expand into the multiple unit market. The 4CEPs were particularly prone to weathering from brake dust which was an almost permanent feature of them”.

Quite nicely done but they all seem to have the same weathering (ex. the 150 which seems to have more around the doors and is slightly dirtier than the MPV for some reason).

I suppose it is impossible to avoid "weathering by numbers" on production lines - they have successfully avoided over-doing it, however (except the MPV probably needs more).

Best, Pete.

I imagine in between when they were new and when they were filthy, they were exactly this dirty at some point.
