RMweb Gold DaveF Posted October 28, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 28, 2012 I recently purchased a number of old 4mm scale built wagon kits, amongst them was this white metal van. The inside of the castings are marked "A K's MODEL" I thought I recognised most K's products, but not this one. Does anyone know what it is (meant to be) a model of? LNWR lives on
Pretty impressed with the detail in the casting, looks really crisp and would look awesome running
jwealleans
They are nice. I picked two up in Wheels of Steel in London last year. Only built one up to now:
hayfield
Pretty impressed with the detail in the casting, looks really crisp and would look awesome running To get them running well a few improvements are needed, quite often with K's wagons the axleboxes are not quite square and as designed rounded axles on the wheels were supplied. Fitting pin point bearings and axles transforms them and sometimes etched W-irons are needed for all 4 wheels to sit squarely on the track. It is as said a nice and unusual Van.
